Are You Ready to Blog for Business?
By Karri • Jun 18th, 2008 • Category: internet marketingThere are a lot of benefits to “blogging for business.†And if you have what it takes to blog about things your target market will enjoy or otherwise find useful, then a business blog can be a great addition to your online marketing strategy.
But blogging isn’t for everyone. It takes time. It takes dedication. And it won’t do much at all for your business if no one reads it. If you can honestly answer “Yes†to most of the questions on the following checklist, then you’re probably a good candidate for creating the next great business blog:
- Do I have a clear idea of the business topics I want to write about?
- Do I feel confident I can post something new and interesting with regularity?
- Can I find time to write even short posts at least once or twice a month?
- Will the content I post be consistent with my current business brand?
- Am I able to leverage and market my blog’s content in a way that directly benefits my business?
- Am I comfortable expressing myself in writing?
- If I’m not comfortable with writing, can I afford to hire a ghost writer or editor?
There are surely other factors to consider, but these are the biggies. Don’t add another blog to the clutter that is today’s blogosphere if you can’t commit in a meaningful way. But if you have something important to say, you have the discipline to say it often, and you are ready to shout it out with passion, then get on the blogging bandwagon. It’s a true investment in the long term success of your online business.
