Is the Law of Attraction Working Behind Your Back?

Some crazy things have been happening in my practice of late. Not padded room crazy (though with 2 boys playing nearby a little padding wouldn’t hurt). No, crazy as in umpteen per cent revenue growth in a matter of weeks.

Sheesh. Whatever happened to popping a baby and schlepping around the house for a year on 3-5 hours sleep a night and no one to talk to but a fat pink thing that cries, poops and says 5 “ga-gas” to every “I love you?”

Oh yeah, I didn’t take maternity leave. My choice too. Because who needs sleep, right?

Whoops, is this a tangent we’re riding on?

ANYWAY, what was I talking about? Oh, yes, the craziness. Truly folks, there is some Law of Attraction-ish stuff happening around here and it’s taking on a life of its own. About 2 months ago I started writing what I like to call my Entrepreneurial Plan (so very different than a Business Plan but I’ve not got time to explain it right now. But please remind me to before next newsletter). Shortly thereafter, I outsourced my bookkeeping to the Chartered Accounting firm that does my year end taxes. And shortly after that I hired a Virtual Assistant on monthly retainer.

Not that I’m new to outsourcing pieces of my operation to contractors by any stretch. But it’s more the mindset behind the actions that, I believe, has made all the difference. As Joe Vitale might say, I “set the intention.” And not even out loud. I just decided it was time to start thinking and acting like a player … instead of aspiring to be one.

Because there’s a big difference, my friend.

For example, my brand spankin’ new VA is helping me with the nitty gritty (read: icky poo-poo) details of creating an SOP manual, streamlining my client intake processes and a bunch of other stuff I can’t even recall now because, well, I don’t need to. Weeks after hiring her (Hi Ruth!), I realized I was no longer having night sweats over impending administrative nightmares or unreturned phone calls. I realized those destructive thoughts had been replaced with unencumbered visions of more clients, higher margins and increased focus on why I’m doing this in the first place (to make a pretty penny doing and sharing what I love).

Pretty quarters are nice too …

So, yes, having a VA is saving me time and money and all that good stuff VAs are supposed to do. More importantly though, having a VA in my midst has allowed me the mental space to rather abruptly “change my tune.” I did not realize how out of tune I was until I started outsourcing in a major way, started really laying the foundation for something greater than what I already was. The mental shift is creating some pretty incredible outcomes.

It’s freaky, but in a good way. I’m not Joe Vitale, but I’m feeling pretty Law of Attraction-y at the moment. (Isn’t there a word for this kind of psychological-metaphysical-may-the-force-be-with-you kind of shift???)
