WordPress Lesson 2: Use Plugins Judiciously
By Karri • May 1st, 2008 • Category: technologyA good plugin is pure joy. A buggy one can make you want to spit at your computer. Fact is, not all WordPress plugins are created equal when you consider things like ease of use, version compatibility and impact on page load. And if your WordPress site is acting weird, try deactivating your plugins one at a time. A temperamental plugin may be the culprit. The good thing is that you can usually find a reasonable substitute that still does what you want it to without the hassles.
Do make use of plugins though, even if it requires some trial and error. From analytics to maintenance to user interactivity, Wordpress plugins can vastly improve your website’s functionality. After all, one of the reasons you chose WordPress was because you didn’t want to be just another "brochure site." Right?
